Alec Foege, Director and Founding Member
Mr. Foege founded Brookside Research after spending more than 15 years as a journalist and editor. Since 2005, he has conducted customized research for top-tier hedge funds, mutual fund groups, venture capital firms, and corporate investigative firms. He specializes in analyzing management teams, industry sectors, and competitive landscapes. He has written business articles and investigative pieces for Fortune Small Business, Crain’s New York Business, CNBC.com, The New York Times, Adweek, and Mediaweek. Over the years, his work has appeared in the pages of Rolling Stone, People, New York, Spin, Playboy, and Details, among other publications. He is the author of four books, including 2008′s Right of the Dial: The Rise of Clear Channel and the Fall of Commercial Radio (Faber & Faber/FSG) and the upcoming The Tinkerers: The Amateurs, DIYers and Inventors Who Make America Great (Basic Books, Jan. 2013). Mr. Foege holds a B.A. in English Literature from Columbia College of Columbia University.
